BOARD OF DIRECTORS

To our valued Chapter Members,

I am writing this email to apologize for our chapter’s lack of vitality and engagement during 2025.  While I do not like to give excuses, please know that we have had some major personal medical challenges in the lives of some of the chapter board members, making it difficult for us to conduct the quality chapter meetings to which you have been accustomed.  As your chapter President during the past seven years, I take personal and complete responsibility for not giving our members the quality programs you deserve and expect.

Moving forward, we are working to get back on track as the Northeast Florida ACP Chapter.  We have several events in the works for 2026, including a visit to a major national company’s emergency operations center here in Jacksonville, as well as a briefing (and possible site visit) on the contingency operations of the US Navy in Jacksonville.  Both events should be interesting and are not typically available to professional groups. In addition, we are working with the University of North Florida and exploring some student memberships in the ACP and our Chapter, as well as some potential internship opportunities.

Some of our board members have left their positions due to personal issues and we are seeking Chapter members that would like to provide board leadership as we move forward.  Currently, we would like to fill the Chapter Secretary and Program Director’s positions.  If anyone would like to take just a little extra time to assist your chapter as board member, please contact me at (904) 993-2690, or johnjordan@crisismgt.org

I genuinely believe that membership in ACP and in our local chapter is vitally important, not only for the field of continuity and contingency planning, but also for our local community.  I assure you that your entire board is dedicated to providing our members with the best possible experience and value for their membership dollars.  As we get close to the end of 2025, please consider renewing your membership before the end of 2025 and encourage others to join.  Your continued membership and outreach to other potential members is the best way to ensure the long-term vitality of ACP and our local NE Florida Chapter.

I also want to take this opportunity to tell everyone that our 2025 Holiday Luncheon will be held at Copelands Restaurant on Southside Blvd on Wednesday, 10 December from 11:30am until 1:30pm.  As always, this event is a  chance for you to have a wonderful (and free!) lunch with your colleagues and friends.  As in the past, you can bring friends, family, or prospective members for a nominal cost. We will contact everyone in the next few weeks to discuss this event and solicit your RSVPs.

In closing, please contact me if you would like to serve on the board, or if you have any questions or concerns that you would like to share.  I look forward to seeing you all at the December luncheon.

Guest Policy

The ACP Northeast Florida Chapter is pleased to welcome all guests to our Chapter meetings. We hope you’ll enjoy your experience and encourage you to give serious consideration to the many benefits and opportunities available through our ACP Corporate and Chapter community. Annual ACP membership with the Northeast Florida Chapter is $160.00 and allows access to any ACP Chapter meeting or event nationwide.  Effective June 1, 2010, the ACP Northeast Florida Chapter instituted a “Repeat Guest” cover charge. The fundamental purpose of the cover charge is to help defray Chapter expenses.  If you’re an active, paid-in-full member of ACP International, regardless of your chapter affiliation, please pre-register for the Chapter meeting by contacting the Program or Membership director. ACP members from a sister chapter are asked to present their membership ID card during sign in to assist us with tracking your CEU benefits.

If you are new to ACP, we offer that you attend two meetings in which the cover charge will be waived. This will give you the opportunity to determine if ACP is right for you. By the third meeting, you are considered a repeat guest.

If you’re a repeat guest, have attended prior Northeast Florida chapter meetings but have yet to join the ACP, or you were part of ACP and your membership has lapsed, you’ll be required to remit a ($10.00) cover charge, in cash or check payable to ACP Northeast Florida Chapter, when you sign-in prior to the start of each meeting.

Note: Repeat Guests or Inactive Members who join / renew prior to the close of the Chapter meeting, submit the appropriate paperwork and payment of their dues via a check or credit card, will have their cover charge returned!
