The Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) - Alamo Chapter is a non-profit trade association dedicated to fostering continued professional growth and development in effective business continuity planning across the San Antonio and South Central Texas region. ACP is the recognized premier international networking and information exchange organization in the business continuity industry.

Our Mission: The Alamo Chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals is committed to advancing organizational resilience by equipping members with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to navigate and thrive through disruption. The Alamo Chapter will be hosting our next member meeting at Frost Bank Operations Center on March 24, 2026 (11:00 - 1:00 pm). Our speaker will be the Frost Team discussing training and exercises, followed by a tour of their Emergency Operations Center/Security Operations Center, and more! Lunch will be served. Members - RSVP's are required by March 18, see meeting invite.

President: Mr. Andy Lapierre, Frost Bank

Andy Lapierre is Senior Vice President and Manager of Enterprise Business Continuity Services at Frost Bank, where he oversees business continuity, crisis management, disaster recovery, and life safety for the organization. With over 25 years of experience spanning firefighting, emergency preparedness, and the financial industry, he has led responses to major crises including hurricanes, floods, wildfires, pandemics, and the Austin serial bomber. A Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and Associate Risk Management Professional (ARMP), Andy is also active in professional associations and community safety initiatives in San Antonio, TX.




Vice President: Mr. Nico Ramirez, USAA

Nico Ramirez is a Senior Business Continuation Advisor at USAA, where he leads enterprise-wide continuity programs, crisis response initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies to strengthen organizational resilience. With a background in program management, regulatory compliance, and multi-agency emergency preparedness, he has successfully guided teams through complex operational and regulatory challenges. Holding an MPH and certifications including CBCP, ABCP, ACRP, and HSEEP, Nico brings deep expertise in safeguarding operations against a wide range of risks.

Michelle Vickers is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) with extensive financial industry experience in continuity planning, incident management, and real-world event response. She has also led physical security operations across multiple states, overseeing 24/7 monitoring, access control, and safety systems for more than 70 locations. In addition, Michelle brings expertise in records management and vendor oversight, holding a Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager (CRVPM) credential.

Marva Frey is a Certified Business Continuity Professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial industry and additional expertise in the medical devices and services sector. She specializes in business continuity management, disaster recovery planning, IT audit, and risk management, with a strong focus on driving operational excellence and process improvement. Known for fostering collaboration and motivating teams, Marva leverages her leadership and technical skills to strengthen organizational resilience and performance.



Programs Director: Dr. Lorenzo Sanchez, Trinity University

Dr. Lorenzo Sanchez is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) with extensive experience leading emergency management, safety, and business continuity programs in government, financial services, and higher education. His professional expertise includes organizational resilience, recovery strategies, incident command, and emergency planning, training, and exercises. Academically, he specializes in social vulnerability to disasters, societal risk factors, crisis communications, and international disaster management.

Shannon serves as a Senior Business Continuation Advisor on the Operational Readiness and Response (ORR) Intelligence, Exercise and Crisis Management Team, where she leads Board- and Executive-level cyber resiliency exercises and develops cyber scenarios to test crisis management teams while supporting the design, execution, and facilitation of enterprise resiliency exercises. A retired U.S. Army Colonel with 30 years of service, Shannon began her career as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot after graduating from Columbus State University and later served as Executive Officer to the Commanding General of U.S. Army North and Senior Mission Commander of Joint Base San Antonio–Fort Sam Houston. Her career includes extensive domestic and international assignments, with deployments supporting FEMA disaster response for Hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico (2017) and the U.S. international humanitarian response to Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas (2019), experiences that shaped her passion for emergency and disaster response and collaborative partnerships. Shannon is a graduate of the National War College with a Master of Science in National Security Strategy and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management.
