ACP Website Privacy Statement ACP respects the privacy of our members and visitors to our website. This page offers information on the following topics related to our privacy practices. INFORMATION COLLECTION We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (Personal Information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when you are asked to register as a member or to enter a limited-access site. Access to our restricted membership services is managed via a user ID based on an email address and a password chosen by our members. We record certain, non-personally identifiable types of information in our site logs -- date/time stamps, IP address, request made to server, referrer site and user agent (browser & platform) -- and use only as needed to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. Site usage information may be analyzed for site management and development purposes, but it not shared with other web sites. COOKIES We use session cookies to save access permissions for our members so that they do not have to log in multiple times as they attempt to access restricted pages during a single online session. These cookies expire when you exit the browser, do not contain any personal information, and are not shared with any other web site. PERSONAL INFORMATION Our site's on-line membership registration form requires users to give us contact information (such as name and email address), and accepts credit card information for membership processing. This information is used to contact members and to provide membership services. We accept payment for membership applications and renewals over the Internet through a secured SSL link. All personal and credit information submitted for this purpose are not stored upon the web server, and so are protected from misuse. We occasionally use the member contact information to inform our members of special educational opportunities and other benefits. By choice, we prefer to do all such notifications ourselves. When it is necessary to share this information with other organizations with which we are partnered, we do so only with an agreement that they are to be used a single time and for a specific purpose. The mailing and the mailing list are then sent to an independent mailing house to be sent out via bulk mail -- partner organizations do not ever see the mailing list. CONSENT We understand that some individuals prefer not to have their personal information, including their contact information, used for any other purposes whatsoever. As a member, if you do not want your personal information used for purposes other than strictly ACP organization business, you can update your contact preferences online or request changes through ACP Headquarters. ACCESS We provide members with the means to ensure that their personal information is correct and current. LINKS As a service to the business continuity community, ACP provides documents, links and information on its web site in order to facilitate information exchange. Inclusion of these resources on the ACP web site is not necessarily an endorsement or recommendation of the resource providers. ACP is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external web sites. PUBLIC FORUMS This site may make a limited number of chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to members for discussion of business continuity issues and ACP business. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information in that forum. SECURITY This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The site is audited on a periodic basis to keep it up to date with good security practices, and protective measures are implemented on the site hosts. Personal member information is not stored on the web server. All such information is stored only on protected internal servers at the host site. Sections of the site are reserved for members only, and are protected from access by other individuals. Sharing or giving access to secure portions of this site with non-ACP members is prohibited and considered a violation of the ACP Code of Ethics. CORRECTIONS Members may change their membership information online or by submitting a request to ACP HQ.
