We view the New York City Metro Chapter as the “Chapter of Choice” in the contingency industry.  We will be regarded as THE place to go for resources, networking and education. 

Mission and Vision:
Creating a body of knowledge encompassing, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk, Crisis and Emergency Management, (Public and Private Sectors representation) and allowing members to access all needed information by networking with other professionals and gaining the necessary expertise.

Our goal will be to take the NYC Metro Chapter to the next level over thenext 2 years, making it the biggest and best Chapter in ACP Corporate, by providing current and exciting topics and interactive programs, ensuring collaboration between the Board and the Members and working all together for the success and growth of the Chapter. The ACP NYC Metro Chapter will be supporting Green Initiatives and we ll substitute paper documentation with our new and enhanced web site.
 

To provide a forum for learning and growth, advancement, mastery and added value within the related disciplines of Business Continuity and Emergency, Incident, and Crisis Management.  This forum is:

    ·A focal point         - for timely, accurate answers and sound advice

    About the Speakers

    • LARRY HECK
    • Weill Cornell Medical College
    • Larry Heck is the Senior Disaster Recovery Project Manager in the Information Technologies and Services Department at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) in New York City. Larry works to develop and maintain the DR program that cares for the clinical, research and academic operations. Larry is also responsible for policy creation, DR compliance and incident response. Larry previously served as a Senior Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager at Avaya. Prior to his BC/DR involvement, Larry worked for 20 years in financial roles including supply chain and cash flow forecasting roles at Nabisco and other global corporations. His education includes an MBA in Finance and a BA in Accounting as well as certification as a Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). Personally, he serves on the Board of Trustees at Jacksonville Chapel and has been on mission trips to Colombia and Haiti.

    • NYU Langone Medical Center
    • Kristin Stevens is the Assistant Director of Emergency Management at New York University Langone Medical Center, where she is the only full-time manager dedicated to emergency preparedness for its three hospitals. Kristin came to NYULMC from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) where she worked as a public health educator and later an emergency manager. At DOHMH, she coordinated the development of the Incident Command System (ICS) and the ICS Planning Section to support agency emergency response. Kristin has extensive experience in emergency plan development and implementation, holds training certifications from FEMA, OSHA and the CDC, is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers and the Association of Contingency Planners, and has additional training from the U.S. Army War College.
