About the Speakers
Max Ckonjevic (Skon-ya-vich),an Operational Risk Manager with more than 25 years of experience. He is a board certified Fellow of The Business Continuity Institute (FBCI) and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) with the Disaster Recovery Institute International. His extensive business experience is focused in Business Continuity, Incident and Crisis Management. Max pioneered Business Continuity methodologies as well as BCP consulting services models. In 1989 he implemented his consulting models for Contingency Planning and Research (CPR) in New York and later for his own international consulting firm, Global Business Recovery Partners. In 2002 he closed his consulting business to develop and led AIG’s Global Business Continuity Management group. He is an active lecturer and educator, having delivered global training and special presentations supporting business in over 125 counties. Max is one of the original founders of the New York City Metro Chapter of ACP as well as New York’s Contingency Planning Exchange (CPE). In addition he is a certification examiner for BCI’s Business Continuity Certification Program.
Jay Colan is Senior Vice-President/Consultant at Lee Hecht Harrison the global talent solutions firm. He helps people manage their careers in 1:1 consulting sessions and in delivery of workshops and facilitation of networking groups (Information Technology; Media and Entertainment). On-site at financial services institutions, media companies, utilities and universities he has facilitated workshops on how employees can best manage their careers and how to help managers assist their employees to maintain their resilience in times of change. He is on the Diversity Leadership Council of Lee Hecht Harrison. For the Harvard Business School Club of Metro NY, he organized and facilitated a panel on “How to Elevate Your Career”. He presented “How to Manage Your International Career” at the French-American Chamber of Commerce. For the Risk Management Association and the Metropolitan Healthcare Administrators Association he has given talks on career management. Jay completed his MA at Columbia University and his BA at the SUNY Stony Brook. He studied at Oxford University and NYU Career and Life Planning program.
Mark Haimowitz is the new Director of Business Continuity Planning for the Disney ABC Television Group. His responsibilities include developing, testing and maintaining business continuity plans for ABC offices in New York City and Burbank, CA. For nearly 25 years, he has been a leader in the implementation of crisis management, business continuation management and disaster recovery programs. Mark is the present Program Director for the ACP Metro Chapter and former Chairman and founder of the Contingency Planning Exchange. He is the former President and present Board Member of the nonprofit Business Network of Emergency Resources (BNET). He has been a speaker at numerous conferences and has published various articles related to the field of business continuation management.
Paul Kirvan has over 20 years experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, security, emergency management, telecomm/IT auditing and over 25 years experience in technical writing/editing and public speaking. Mr. Kirvan has been directly involved with dozens of business continuity, security, IT audit, emergency management and telecom consulting engagements, ranging from operational audits and strategy definition projects to plan design and implementation, program exercising, execution and maintenance, and RFP preparation and response. Mr. Kirvan is a member of the board of The Business Continuity Institute and member of the board and secretary of the BCI’s USA Chapter. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Fellow of the BCI (FBCI) and Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP).
Andrew Smith is a senior level Manager with 18 years diversified Management experience specializing in Information Technology, IT Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning. He is the Vice President of Disaster Recovery Planning for the Americas for the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., and prior to that; he spent over eight years as the Vice President and Head of Technology Services and Disaster Recovery Planning for DEXIA, NY (European Banking Group). Andrew is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), holds an MBA in International Finance from St. John's University and an Executive Certificate in Management & Leadership from MIT Sloan School of Management. He is the founding Membership Director of the ACP NYC Metro Chapter, served 3 years as Secretary on the Executive Board and is currently the President of the Chapter and the Chairman of the ACP National Presidents’ Council.
Gabriel Terranova has spent the last three years with Andersen Steinberg leading their executive search efforts focusing on the Risk and Resiliency functions within the corporate and investment banking communities. Jason is based in London and he oversees a global resource team covering Asia, EMEA, and the Americas. He has lead successful searches for clients in senior roles such as Deutsche, HSBC, Prudential, JPMorgan Chase, and Credit Suisse. Jason, previously working in the Manufacturing industry in a Sales capacity and an educational background in Information Systems, has a strong history of successful senior global execution..
