Welcome

Investing in Our Future

mike thomsonFellow ACP Members,

As our chairman Mike Gifford has stated, this year is the start of a great transformation and the beginning of a 5 year journey for our Association. Not only do we have a new association management company in ADG, the national and chapter leadership have approved a strategic plan to guide ACP until 2016. While our fiscal picture and national balance sheet remain strong, ACP at the national level made over $50,000 in investments in 2011 to invest in the future of our “One ACP” - $8,000 to develop new chapter and national websites, $11,000 to design a more “user friendly” and flexible membership database, $7,000 to determine and to train our leaders how best to meet our members’ wants/needs and $26,000 in new insurance benefits and legal, audit and other required transition costs.

Selecting ADG as our new management partner was just the first step in this Great ACP Transformation. The Association Management Transition Committee (AMTC) that I co-chaired with Mike Gifford worked hard last year not only to select the best management company available but to put in place a transition plan to ensure a more effective, more efficient staff support structure for all ACP members, chapters and leaders. Although we are just 1 month into that 5-year process, I am confident you can see some tangible results already. In the days ahead, look for more examples of our progress towards these historic milestones.

New Chapter Sites Coming Soon

As we begin “The Great Transformation” in 2012 ACP will be launching a new standardized format for our ACP chapter sites. The new format will mirror this National website with the purpose of strengthening our ACP brand. As part of the transition to our new service provider one chapter site was moved to the new template. Check out our San Francisco Bay Area Chapter.
