The parking lot at the Hillsborough County EOC is rather small. They suggest that we plan on parking outside of the fenced-in area, and then walk through the gate back towards the Emergency Center. RSVP: Please RSVP by MONDAY, JULY 27th to Ed Norstrem, Director of Membership: enorstrem@dtcc.comMEETING DESCRIPTION: Our hosts will discuss the role of Hillsborough County Emergency Management in Disaster Planning and Response and describe the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Hillsborough County Emergency Management is responsible for planning and coordinating the evacuation and sheltering of county residents in the event of a natural or manmade disaster. This agency is also in charge of coordinating response actions and continuity of government in the aftermath of a major disaster. The local emergency management office is responsible for all of Hillsborough County, including the cities of Tampa, Plant City and Temple Terrace. We will see a presentation discussing the operation of the EOC and the types of threats for which they prepare. WeÕll then have the opportunity to walk through the building and see the Emergency Dispatch Center.
